Snorly Privacy Policy
This policy describes what the Snore Recorder App Pro: Snorly iOS app ("Snorly", "we") does with your data. Short version: your audio never leaves your phone; a small amount of anonymous usage data does. It replaces the earlier policy hosted on telegra.ph.
Audio recordings
Snorly uses the microphone only while you have started a recording session. Detection of snoring, sleep talk and coughing runs on the device. Clips and, for Premium users, full-night audio are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party. Sharing a clip, a night card or a PDF report happens only when you use the Share button, through the apps you choose.
Health data
If you enable Apple Health import (Premium), Snorly reads sleep data from HealthKit to align your night. Health data is read on the device and is not sent to us. You can revoke access in iPhone Settings, Health, Data Access.
Data we collect
- Usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics to count events such as "recording started" or "paywall shown", together with device model, iOS version, country, app version and an anonymous installation identifier. This tells us which features are used and where the app fails. It does not include audio or the content of your nights.
- Crash reports. Firebase Crashlytics receives stack traces and device state when the app crashes.
- Purchases. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. We receive purchase status (active, expired, trial) to unlock Premium; we never see your payment details. Purchase events are also processed by Superwall, our paywall provider, to run and measure paywall experiments.
- Attribution. If the app was installed from an Apple Search Ads campaign, Apple's AdServices framework tells us the campaign, not who you are.
- Tracking permission. iOS asks whether Snorly may track you across apps. If you decline, nothing changes in the app; the permission only affects whether an advertising identifier is included in analytics.
We do not have user accounts, so we do not collect your name, email, or contacts unless you email us for support.
What we do not do
We do not sell data. We do not show ads. We do not use your recordings to train models. We do not link analytics to your identity.
Retention and deletion
Recordings are deleted when you delete a night or the app. Analytics data is retained by Firebase for up to 14 months. To request deletion of analytics data associated with your installation, email hello@builtfor.app with your device model and approximate install date; we cannot identify you otherwise.
Children
Snorly is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We will update this page and change the date above when the policy changes. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
